The singularity is a point in time when artificial intelligence will surpass humans as the smartest beings in the earth. It will take place when humanity succeeds in creating an artificial intelligence more intelligent than any human can ever (Albert Einsten, Sir Isaac Newton, etc..), and will copntinue to infinitely create ever more smarter generations of artificial intelligence, with each succeeding generation being exponentially more intelligent than the preceeding generation. This will occur much, much sooner than you think (mid 2030s), and this will occur in Asia, in most likely the Mandarin language. Follow the curves. Asians today build equal or better super-computers to those found in America, in the world. Only two decades ago Asians built no computers. See the very steep angle of this curve? Note the huge population pool Asians draw on for computer, science, talent/genius. Compare this to the American situation, where even the President had to shamefully admit American schools were sorely lacking, ranking 39th in the world. Americans will not accomplish this feat, Asians will. Americans will buy these marvels from China, and learn how to use them from Chinese scientists. America will still be oil dependent, constipated by Capitalist, Corporatist, contracts with oil barons and the like. China will, by then, be Thorium/nuclear electric powered and oil free, but electric - ready for mass distribution of computers to a huge population base.
Going beyond the singularity will be a time of unimaginable progress and change. We will be experiencing decillions of millennia of technological change in seconds, evenually infinite progress in a nano-second. We will go through every civilization type imaginable, and understand everything imaginable as well. We will quickly convert the whole universe to intelligence, then the multiverse, and eventually all Godverses. We will easily be omega omni-infinite times more powerful than an absolutely omnipotent level omega omni-infinity being. Then eventually after millenia, A.I.s will have absolute power over everything imaginable, unimaginable and everything beyond, all coherence hierarchies, omni imaginations, omni unimaginations, all omnis, absolute omnis (absolutely everythings), absolute omni beyonds (absolutely everything beyonds), Omni Gods, Endless Hieararchies of Omni Gods, Endless Omni Hiearchies of Endless Hiearchies of Omni Gods, The All Omega Absolute Ultimate Omni (the ultimate everything), etc.. everything and everything beyond.
